I move, therefore I am
— Haruki Murakami

Having a successful dance career spanning 17 years, I have been fortunate to travel the world doing what I love. Whilst performing in Vienna in 2007, I was introduced to my first yoga class by a colleague & was instantly hooked; I’d discovered some quiet from the storm (yes - the world of theatre can be so!). Just me, my body, my mind and my mat.  But it didn’t end with the physical practice (the asana) - I had always considered myself a mindful mover, but now I was learning how to apply this to my thoughts, actions and ultimately everyday life. Yoga is a way of life.  As my career progressed, yoga remained a huge part of my daily routine, and no matter where in the world my career led me, checking out the local studios was always top of my list, allowing me to be introduced & inspired by various styles with many wonderful teachers, not only in Europe but in Australia, New Zealand, Asia and the USA.

In 2013 I suffered an injury and was faced with 2 choices: surgery or rest & rehab.  A great believer in the wonders of the human body and its sheer ability to heal, I chose the latter.  This is where my journey led me to pilates.  After 3 - 4 months thanks to proper nutrition, rest, a deep yoga practice, pilates (and a wonderful physiotherapist ofcourse!), I was back in action and feeling stronger than ever.  The respect I gained for my body throughout this time was immense and the experience taught me a lot about myself, but most of all, it fed my hunger to learn…

…and so I travelled to Rishikesh, India to complete my Hatha Vinyasa Teacher Training, followed by a Restorative Teacher Training & subsequent Continued Educations with the Yoga Alliance® in the realm of Yoga. I began studying Pilates with BASI® in Berlin - Germany to then achieve my BASI® Pilates Mat Teacher Training certification in London - UK, a specialist Pilates Reformer Equipment course with ALM® Pilates Portugal, and the BASI® Pre/Post Natal Teacher Training. I deepened my knowledge, more specifically on our “structural balance”, with Poliquin® Performance Specialist Training Levels 1&2 & my dedication to studies of the body & movement continue…….”forever a student”.
